Girls are OA Ceremonialist
for the First Time

At the Wipala Wiki Lodge OA Ordeal Weekend in March, girls participated in the OA Ceremonies for the very first time and they did an amazing job.  In the Pre-Ordeal Ceremony, Eleanor Rhodes was Nutiket, Devin Clark was Meteu and Katrina Albers was Allowat Sakima.  They were joined by Nicholas Gebhardt as Kichkinet.

The girls were invited to participate in Troop 526 OA Ceremonial Team led by the Ceremony Team Advisor Dan Bleasdale.  They are Scouts in Troop 505 TrailBlazers. To be a ceremonialist, it takes a lot of teamwork and commitment.  With team practices every week, they work hard to embrace and authentically represent the principals in Hopi tradition.  Dan Bleasdale is very proud of the team, “These three ladies have been TrailBlazers their entire Scouting careers. I am honored they let me be a part of the fantastic things they have accomplished. I am so happy to have a team that works together. Everyone has multiple rolls and are willing to do what it takes at any given Ceremony and help the Lodge succeed.”

It takes an entire team to perform the Pre-Ordeal and Ordeal ceremonies that includes torch bearers, drummers and support crew.  A successful Ordeal Weekend is only possible with the help of the entire team which includes Karsten Albers, Nathan Bleasdale, Nick Bleasdale, Dylan Gebhardt, Daniel Jackson, Alex Palomo, Keaton Rodems, and Jack Venezia.

We thank Troop 526 OA Ceremonial Team for their support at Ordeal Weekend this year and over the last many years.
