District Award of Merit – 2020
District Award of Merit – 2020
Do you know of an adult leader that you believe deserves to be recognized for outstanding service to scouting inside our Sonoran Sunset District? If so, please look at the requirements for the District Award of Merit and seriously consider writing up a nomination for that scouter.
So, how does one qualify to receive consideration for this award. There are five distinct requirement points to know about and consider. Also, please refer to the form linked below.
- A nominee must be a currently registered scouter in a volunteer position
- A nominee must have rendered noteworthy service to youth within scouting, outside scouting, or both. Notice that this noteworthy service may have been one single plan or decision that contributed to the lives of many youth, or it may have been given to a small group over an extended period.
- Consideration must be given to the nominee’s scouting position and the corresponding opportunity to render outstanding service beyond the expectations of their position. Ask yourself, Did the scouter go above and beyond? Then they deserve the nomination.
- The nominee’s attitude towards cooperation with the district and or council is to be taken into consideration. This is not for a scouter who goes rogue!
- Nominations cannot be considered for posthumous awards. The scouter must be breathing…
If you make a nomination, please keep it confidential. If the person is not selected for the honor of receiving this award, we don’t want that person to be embarrassed about that.
Please send nominations to Sully Sullivan.
